From 12 to 14 June, the grounds of the Church of Saint Mary of Airães in Felgueiras will host the fifth edition of the ‘Airães, Medieval Village’ event. Admission is free.

The central theme will be the love story of King Pedro and Inês de Castro, one of the best-known tales in Portuguese history. The planned historical re-enactment is inspired by the legendary posthumous coronation of Inês.

The entertainment programme includes fire shows with medieval dances, the traditional Burning of the Wizard, the immersive theatre show Tumulto do Reino, medieval experiences, the Galician Burning, the Coração de D. Inês procession, the medieval wedding and the Banquet of the King and the People.

This initiative aims to promote the valuable heritage of the Church of Airães, a National Monument included in the Route of the Romanesque.
