Saramago: Journey to Portugal
"... the end of one journey is only the beginning of another. We need to see what we haven't seen, to see again what we've already seen, to see in spring what we saw in summer, to see by day what we saw by night... We need to return to the steps we've taken, to repeat them, and to outline new paths."Inspired by the literary work of José Saramago (1922-2010), and commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the writer awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1998, we propose a journey along the Route of the Romanesque through the eyes of the author who travelled across the length and breadth of the country, between October 1979 and July 1980, in his Journey to Portugal.
