Dating back to the late 17th century, Casa da Granja was acquired in 1855 by the maternal grandfather of painter Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso (1887-1918), Francisco José Cardoso, and remodelled in 1915 by his father, José Emídio de Souza-Cardoso.

Today, Casa da Granja is a cultural and museological space, hosting exhibitions, concerts, book presentations and other activities.

Among the various spaces in the Casa da Granja, the room dedicated to the photographer Eduardo Teixeira Pinto (1933-2009) is worth highlighting.
