Lugar do Mosteiro, Gondar, Amarante
The route (6 km) owes its name to the fact that a good part of it runs along the river with the same name, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, because the place name "Marancinho" (Marãozinho) recalls the Marão, one of the major references of the natural heritage of this region. It begins and ends at the Church of Saint Mary of Gondar, which is part of the Route of the Romanesque. This route follows mostly tracks and ancient paths, including a beautiful section of the ancient Roman road that, in Amarante, connected Tongobriga, in Marco de Canaveses, to the rock sanctuary of Panóias, in Vila Real.
