On 7 and 8 February, the musical quartet DoBaú Ensemble celebrates its debut with two concerts in Amarante and Lousada:
– 7 Feb 2025, Friday, 9.30pm, Centro Cultural de Amarante - Maria Amélia Laranjeira;
– 8 Feb 2025, Saturday, 9.30pm, Auditório Municipal de Lousada.
DoBaú Ensemble is the result of the sensitivity and artistic creativity of Quiné Teles (percussion, voice), Catarina Silva (voice), Luís Peixoto (chordophones) and Albano Fonseca (electric bass).
It's a project dedicated to traditional Portuguese music which, through a contemporary musical approach, favours the unknown authors of our roots music and, consequently, our cultural identity.
Also on stage will be the Conservatório do Vale do Sousa women's choir and a group of percussion students from the Conservatório de Amarante.
Admission to the Amarante concert is free. In Lousada, it costs €2, and tickets can be bought on site or on Ticketline.
The project is funded by the Direção-Geral das Artes and has the following support: Antena 2, Câmara Municipal de Lousada, Associação de Cultura Musical de Lousada, Conservatório do Vale do Sousa, Centro Cultural de Amarante – Maria Amélia Laranjeira, Conservatório de Amarante, Rota do Românico, Lousada Country Hotel and Junta de Freguesia de Silvares, Pias, Nogueira e Alvarenga.
