Between February 15 and March 29, the old granary of the Monastery of Saint Mary of Pombeiro, in Felgueiras, hosts an exhibition commemorating the 430th anniversary of the birth of Manuel de Faria e Sousa.
Born in Pombeiro, Manuel de Faria e Sousa (1590-1649) was a notable historian, poet, translator, biographer, polymath and artist skilled in pen drawing.
The opening of this documentary exhibition is scheduled for Saturday, February 15, at 04:30 pm. There will be a presentation by José Valle de Figueiredo, professor, poet and literary critic.
The exhibition will be open from Wednesdays to Sundays, between 10:00 am and 06:00 pm and admission is free.
On March 28, Saturday, this national monument will host a theme-based conference given by Zulmira C. Santos, full professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.
The exhibition is organised by the Route of the Romanesque and Felgueiras City Council, with the support of the Regional Directorate for Culture of Northern Portugal and the Parish of Pombeiro.
