In the 2024-2025 school year, the Route of the Romanesque is launching the sixth edition of its school competition, this time on the theme of Society in the Middle Ages.
The competition is aimed at the school community, from pre-school to secondary school (public and private), in the 86 municipalities of the Northern Region of Portugal.
The works to be presented in this School Competition should creatively explore the theme of society in the Middle Ages, namely the topics of social classes/strata, professions, health, education, food, leisure activities, among others.
Particular value will be given to works that highlight, in some way, the connection between medieval society and the monuments that currently make up the Route of the Romanesque.
The competition will award prizes to the three best works in each of the following four categories, by school level:
a) Illustration: Pre-school and 1st Cycle of Basic Education;
b) Literary Creation: 2nd Cycle of Basic Education;
c) Scientific and Technological Experiments: 3rd Cycle of Basic Education;
d) Open Category: Secondary Schools.
Receipt of the work ends on 19 May 2025 inclusive, by submitting this form.
See the competition rules.
