The Route of the Romanesque promotes, between March and May, a cycle of six concerts entitled CANTUSd’Alma Iluminado. Free entry, subject to space capacity.

Starred by the group CANTUSd'Alma, the cycle aims to explore the essence of medieval music through the Cantigas de Santa Maria [Songs of Saint Mary], from the 13th century, with a richer spectrum of new musical sounds, using for the purpose the wealth of contrasts and sound characteristics of voices and instruments such as accordion, percussion and cello.

In an intimate environment, a unique musical interpretation, as a result of the combination of arrangements by Braga-born composer André Ruiz with an alternative and unique vision of each of the songs.

The CANTUSd’Alma group is made up of five elements: Sara Meireles and Marisol Brito (voices), Inês Vaz (accordion), Joana Correia (cello) and Miguel Meireles (percussion).
