In October 2024, the Route of the Romanesque will host a cycle of four medieval music concerts under the motto The King's Book.

The public will have the opportunity to experience the Middle Ages through the music of the time, with commentary from Ricardo Alves Pereira, a member of the TWB Ensemble (The Wandering Bard), who will perform the ensemble's concert programme solo.

The King's Book - AGENDA (October)

– 12th, Saturday, 9.30pm, Interpretation Centre of Romanesque Sculpture, Abragão, Penafiel;

– 13th, Sunday, 4pm, Church of Saint James of Valadares, Baião;

– 19th, Saturday, 9.15pm, Interpretation Centre of the Romanesque, Lousada*;

– 20th, Sunday, 4pm, Church of Saint Mary of Barrô, Resende.

*The concert at the Interpretation Centre of the Romanesque will be preceded by a lecture dedicated to Alfonso X (1221-1284) and his Cantigas de Santa Maria, one of the most important sources on life in the Middle Ages.
